Crime Prevention Tools and Resources
Investing for success: the steps to select, implement and sustain effective crime prevention.
Resources, including time, people and money, for community efforts are precious. People who work to help prevent crime and delinquency want to invest their limited resources in programs and activities that will have the best chances of success. But with all the possibilities and claims, it is difficult to navigate the choices and make the best decisions. Few studies have been conducted on the process for selection of a program or on the criteria that influence or guide this decision. What criteria should be taken into account? Selecting a crime prevention program requires significant investment of time and thought.
The NCPC produces knowledge on how to select, implement, evaluate and promote the sustainability of effective crime prevention programs. The main steps are outlined below and related information, tools and resources are available by clicking on the links.
