Purpose : The YIP-Québec project proposed by the community organization Motivaction Jeunesse aims to implement the promising Youth Inclusion Program (YIP). The purpose of this project is to provide services to youth aged 13 to 17 in the Limoilou sector of Quebec City who are at risk of getting involved in crime. The project proposes two intervention sites: École Jean-de-Brébeuf and École de la Cité. These sites were targeted because local stakeholders have observed recurring acts of violence, bullying and vandalism, year after year. The project’s objective is to promote access to appropriate services, prevent participants from entering the criminal justice system, reduce the rate of recidivism among youth who are already in the justice system, and take action at the individual, family and community levels.
