Purpose : The objective of this program is to reduce youth delinquency, particularly the number of arrests, repeat offences and youth entering the legal system. The program is also aimed at decreasing drop out rates. To reduce crime and antisocial behaviour in young people aged 13 to 16 in the Acadian Peninsula, the Centre de Bénévolat de la Péninsule Acadienne (CBPA) Inc. will provide interventions tailored to their needs in order to guide them towards positive social influences, facilitate access to specialized services, help them acquire better social skills, and teach them about addiction. In addition, these young people will be directed to pre determined safe locations in the Peninsula where they will have the opportunity to acquire new skills and take part in constructive activities responding to their needs, including one on one mentoring from peers and workers.
