Purpose and objectives of transfer payment program

The goal of this project is to enable Avalanche Canada to expand services nationally to further ensure that more Canadians are better informed of the risks that avalanches pose, and how to be safe when participating in activities in back-country areas.

Summary of recipient's annual plans

Avalanche Canada expects to continue making progress in stabilization of existing operations, inclusive of staffing levels, system upgrade and maintenance, and service delivery. Concurrently, expansion efforts will continue including adding forecast for additional areas at risk, further develop existing support to decision-making tools, and improved forecasting in Western Canada.
