How to report foreign interference
If you are in immediate danger, CALL 9-1-1.
In Canada, the public can report suspected foreign interference or related threats.
If you believe you have witnessed or are being targeted by foreign interference, here's how to report it:
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) National Security Tip Line
This is where you can share tips on suspected foreign interference, espionage, terrorism and other threats. Call 1-800-420-5805 or submit a report via the online form.
You may report anonymously if you need to.
Contact the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) National Security Tip Line.
Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS)
CSIS gathers intelligence on espionage and foreign interference. Call 613-993-9620 or 1-800-267-7685 or use the online reporting form.
Inform them if you meet or are approached by people you suspect are working for a foreign country or are covertly trying to influence politics.
Commissioner of Canada Elections
If you suspect a person or group is trying to interfere with a federal election, or breaking federal election laws (like making illegal foreign donations to a campaign or spreading election disinformation), you should report it to the Commissioner of Canada Elections.
The Commissioner's Office has an online complaint form where you can file a report about potential election law violations.
If there is an immediate threat to someone's safety or an ongoing crime, call 911 or your local police right away. Local police can respond and will coordinate with federal authorities as needed.
