Summary

This guide is designed for educators and trainers who develop leadership curricula to serve Canadian policing, including those in universities, colleges, training institutes, police academies and consulting firms that provide leadership training to policing organizations. It provides guidelines for design of competency-based leadership training based upon new nationally validated competencies required of all police leaders. It also supports mapping leadership competencies to existing programs and courses to assess their effectiveness in producing the needed leadership skills.
