Summary

The Standards refer to a publication prepared by the Ontario Ministry of Health, with the assistance of the Designated Officers Manual Working Group; Preventing and Assessing Occupational Exposures to Selected Communicable Diseases - An Information Manual for Designated [i.e. Designated] Officers. The Canadian Police Research Centre (CPRC) has received permission to reproduce both of these publications for the information of the Canadian police community. It is hoped that this information may lead to a greater awareness of the risks of communicable diseases and the steps in preventing and assessing exposure to same. CPRC wishes to thank the Province of Ontario, the Ministry of the Solicitor General and Correctional Service, the Ministry of Health and the Designated Officers Manual Working Group for permission to publish this material.
