Mozilla Releases Security Updates

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to the recently released security updates for Mozilla Firefox and Firefox ESR.

Assessment

Mozilla released security updates to address a use after free vulnerability in the ANGLE graphics library, used for WebGL content in Firefox and Firefox ESR.  The severity of the issue is high.

Versions affected:
Firefox versions prior to 53.0.2
ESR versions prior to 52.1.1

Suggested Action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released updates to affected applications accordingly.
