Vulnerabilities in ASP.NET Templates
Date: 9 February 2016
The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to multiple vulnerabilities in ASP.NET templates.
Microsoft has released an update to address the vulnerabilities in the public version of Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2015, and ASP.NET project templates for MVC5 and MVC6. The update addresses vulnerabilities which could potentially allow an attacker to perform cross-site request forgery (CSRF) against web applications built using the affected ASP.NET project templates.
CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released updates to affected applications accordingly.
