Microsoft Security Bulletin Release (Out of Band) – Vulnerability in Internet Explorer

The purpose of this advisory is to draw attention to the Microsoft Security Bulletin Release (Out of Band) Vulnerability in Internet Explorer that could allow remote code execution.


This security update resolves a vulnerability in Internet Explorer. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer.  An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same rights as the current user.  This security update is rated moderate to critical depending on the version of Windows.

Affected products:
Internet Explorer (7, 8, 9, 10 & 11) on all current versions of Windows (Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, RT, RT8.1, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 & Server 2012 R2).

Suggested Action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released updates to affected applications accordingly.
