IBM Endpoint Manager Mobile Device Management Vulnerability

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to a vulnerability in IBM Endpoint Manager Mobile Device Management component, where an attacker could misuse cookies to execute arbitrary code.


A vulnerability in IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager Mobile Device Management (MDM) could allow attackers to create valid session cookies containing marshalled objects of their choosing which could lead to the execution of arbitrary code with administrator privileges.

All versions of the iOS extender, Self-service portal, Trusted Services provider and Admin Portal components of IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager Mobile Device Management prior to version 9.0.60100 are affected by this vulnerability.

CVE Reference: CVE-2014-6140.

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released update to version 9.0.60100.
