Drupal 7 Critical Security Update

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to a vulnerability in the Drupal core 7.x versions prior to 7.32 Content Management System (CMS).


Drupal core 7.x versions prior to 7.32 are vulnerable to SQL injection attacks. Drupal 7.x versions prior to 7.32 include a database abstraction API to ensure that queries executed against the database are sanitized to prevent SQL injection attacks. Successful exploitation of vulnerabilities in these versions of the product can lead to privilege escalation, arbitrary PHP execution, or other attacks.

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that organizations running versions Drupal 7.x versions prior to 7.32 update to the latest version immediately, as any website running Drupal 7.x versions prior to 7.32 is vulnerable to SQL injection attacks.

If you are unable to update to Drupal 7.32 you can apply the patch below to Drupal's database.inc file to fix the vulnerability until you are able to completely upgrade to Drupal 7.32.
