Bash – Red Hat Updates

The purpose of this Advisory is to bring attention to recently released security updates for Red Hat related to Bash.


Red Hat has released security updates to address multiple vulnerabilities in Bash. Exploitation of certain services and applications can allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to provide environment variables, override or bypass environment restrictions to execute shell commands and run arbitrary code.

Suggested Action

CCIRC recommends that owner/operators test and deploy the vendor released updates or workarounds to affected platforms accordingly.
