Oracle Security Alert for Java SE Critical Update

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to the following critical update released for Oracle Java SE.


Oracle has released a critical Security Alert which includes fixes for vulnerabilities affecting JDK and JRE 7 Update 10 and earlier. The patch includes security fixes for CVE-2013-0422, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. CCIRC is aware of active exploitation of this vulnerability in the wild. This update also addresses JRE vulnerability for CVE-2012-3174, and changes default Java security settings.

Affected products include:
JDK and JRE 7 Update 10 and earlier

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy these updates accordingly at the earliest opportunity.
