Strategic Coordination Centre on Information Sharing
The Strategic Coordination Centre on Information Sharing (SCCI) plays a key role in Canada’s efforts to ensure the timely, effective and responsible sharing of national security information. The SCCI is a coordination hub for government policies on domestic and international information sharing. Its responsibilities include providing support, training, and resources to federal government departments and agencies to ensure cooperation and integration within the national security community. The SCCI does not collect or share any personal information related to national security.
The Centre’s objectives are to:
- Foster a culture of partnership by contributing to meaningful relationships among Canada’s national security community and better enabling partners to work together to protect Canada while respecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of Canadians.
- Reduce barriers by working with national security partners to identify and address obstacles to responsible and effective national security information sharing.
- Increase awareness of national security information sharing by being open and transparent about the Government of Canada’s information sharing practices and to increase understanding and awareness of national security policies among Canadians.
