There are 356 Aboriginal communities that have dedicated police services, employing 1,333 police officers. Public Safety Canada works with Aboriginal communities and its other partners to provide Aboriginal communities with policing services that respect their ways of life. Some of the policing services are self-administered while others are managed by the RCMP.
