The process

An individual who has been the subject of an emergency direction not to board an aircraft under the Passenger Protect Program may complete an application for reconsideration.

In order to apply for reconsideration, individuals must fully complete and send the application to the Office of Reconsideration, along will all supporting documentation.

The Office of Reconsideration will provide the individual with information to allow him or her to be reasonably informed of the reasons for the decision to specify him or her, taking into consideration the obligation to protect sensitive information. The individual may submit additional information in support of his or her application.

The Office of Reconsideration ensures that the information provided by the individual is provided to the Minister of Public Safety, or his/her delegate, who will determine whether an individual should remain a specified person.

Public Safety Canada will then send a letter to the applicant advising him or her of the decision made by the Minister, or his/her delegate. The Office of Reconsideration aims to complete each review as quickly as possible.
