Risk-Based Audit Framework
Following government-wide directives, a Risk-Based Audit Framework (RBAF) was developed for the First Nations Policing Policy (FNPP). It is a guidance document that is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the FNPP. The RBAF provides:
- background and profile information on the transfer payment program including the key inherent risk areas (internal and external) that the program faces
- a description of the key risk areas which may influence the achievement of FNPP objectives
- an explicit understanding of specific risks as well as existing and incremental risk management strategies
- an explanation of risk management, monitoring and auditing practices
