Regional Operations
Public Safety Canada has a network of 11 Emergency Management and National Security Regional Offices and two satellite offices across the country. Regional activities span the four pillars of emergency management: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Most emergencies in Canada are local in nature and are managed by the municipalities or at the provincial or territorial level. Successful emergency management depends on an effective regional network to carry out the federal responsibilities identified in the Emergency Management Act.
