Répertoire bibliographique sur la gestion des urgences au Canada
Le Collège a commencé à élaborer un répertoire d'ouvrages de référence sur la gestion des urgences au Canada dans le cadre de son mandat qui consiste à faire progresser l'état des connaissances sur la gestion des urgences au pays.
Le répertoire contient plus de 500 références bibliographiques provenant de diverses sources, y compris des revues spécialisées à l'intention des universitaires et des gens sur le terrain, des rapports gouvernementaux, des rapports d'experts-conseils, des sites Web sur des associations participant à la gestion des urgences et des sites Web du gouvernement.
En fonction des commentaires recueillis auprès du milieu de la gestion des urgences, on a choisi cinq sujets principaux :
Ces sources décrivent les leçons apprises lors de catastrophes naturelles qui sont survenues au Canada. Parmi ces sources, on trouve des comptes-rendus après action, des commissions d'enquête gouvernementales, des examens à l'intention des intervenants et des rapports d'experts-conseils.
Ces sources donnent un aperçu historique de la gestion des urgences. Elles ne contiennent aucune référence portant sur des dispositions législatives.
Ces sources traitent des activités de rétablissement qui sont mises en place immédiatement après une situation d'urgence.
Cette section du répertoire est divisée en deux sous-sujets : communication des risques et communication de crise. La communication des risques permet de sensibiliser le public au sujet des dangers, ce qui comprend notamment la préparation en cas d'urgence, les alertes et les campagnes de sensibilisation. La communication de crise renvoie à la gestion des communications internes et externes durant une situation d'urgence. Veuillez prendre note que certains sujets liés à la santé publique et à l'environnement ne sont pas traités dans cette section (SRAS, virus du Nil occidental et incident de Walkerton).
Ces sources offrent des outils et de l'information sur la façon de mener des évaluations.

Le répertoire ne comprend pas de magazines à grand tirage, de journaux, de rapports sur des mesures législatives ou de rapports annuels sur l'évolution de projets mis en œuvre par le milieu de la gestion des urgences.

Ces sources, qui remontent à 1985, décrivent les leçons apprises lors de catastrophes naturelles qui sont survenues au Canada.
