Current initiatives
CCIRC is building partnerships with federal departments, provincial and territorial governments and owners of major critical infrastructure. This effort is to strengthen the national network of organizations that have a stake in cyber security. These partnerships are also helping the Centre to provide its services more accurately and effectively.
Current initiatives include:
- Coordination of incident response across jurisdictions: CCIRC is fully engaged in the federal all-hazards emergency management framework, Federal Emergency Response Plan (FERP).
- Fostering information sharing between organizations and jurisdictions: CCIRC chairs or participates in a number of forums including federal-provincial teams as well as international working groups.
- Enhancing the timeliness, clarity and reach of security warnings: CCIRC issues alerts, advisories and information notes and is a participant in the Government Operations Centre's Warning Pilot Project.
- Building relationships for incident reporting: CCIRC is developing a secure online incident reporting form, a secure extranet site, and drafting a Government of Canada incident management standard.
