Current Cyber Activity Update

Purpose
There has been no indication or report to OCIPEP/Critical Cyber Infrastructure Protection Division of increased malicious cyber activity directed against Canadian Government networks as a result of the 09/11/2001 terrorist attacks in the United States. Contacts within several government departments report they are experiencing no suspicious or increased cyber activity. Additionally, NIPC reports no unusual or increased cyber activity attributable to these terrorist attacks.
The Critical Cyber Infrastructure Protection Division is in a heightened state of awareness and currently on a 24/7 staff rotation. The Division continues to monitor Internet security web-sites and newsgroups for any indication of new cyber threats. If you detect any suspicious or increased cyber activity please notify OCIPEP.

The Canadian Cyber Incident Response Centre (CCIRC) provides a focal point for Canada's cyber threat and vulnerability warning, analysis and response.
