Public Safety Minister Toews announces funding to protect communities targeted by hate crime in Toronto

The following three organizations are receiving support from Public Safety Canada’s Security Infrastructure Pilot (SIP) Program:

Toronto Maha Vihara Society: The Toronto Maha Vihara Society supports the promotion of Buddhist culture through religious, cultural and educational services offered in the Scarborough area.  The funding amount is $43,620.

Gur Mandir Temple - Sindi and Hindu: The Gur Mandir Temple is dedicated to serving the religious and cultural needs of all denominations of the Sindhi and Hindu community in the Toronto area. The funding amount is $8,997.50.

Buddhist Mission Centre: The Buddhist Mission Centre promotes the traditions, beliefs and practices of Buddhism in the Brampton area.  The funding amount is $8,040.

Total:  $60,657.50
