Public Safety Minister welcomes the release of the Braidwood Phase II Report

June 18, 2010 — The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, made the following statement today regarding the release of the Braidwood Phase II Report on the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver International Airport in October 2007.

“The Government of Canada has been supportive, from the outset, of the Braidwood Commission of Inquiry and I look forward to reviewing the Phase II Report. 

I would like to thank the Honourable Thomas R. Braidwood and his staff for their important work. Our government will take the time necessary to carefully review Commissioner Braidwood’s second report before commenting further.”
