Public Safety Minister Toews congratulates the CBSA on the deportation of Mohammed Shakeel
March 12, 2010 — The Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, made the following statement today regarding the successful deportation from Canada of Mohammed Abdul Shakeel, an American man wanted on charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child in the United States.
“I would like to commend the CBSA officers involved in the removal of Mohammed Shakeel from our country. This arrest and removal shows the outstanding dedication of the CBSA to protecting our borders,” said Minister Toews. “It also demonstrates effective cooperation between the CBSA and our American law enforcement counterparts. This Government is committed to working with our partners to protect the safety and security of Canadians.”
