Ten Montreal region community organizations benefit
The following projects are receiving support from Public Safety Canada’s Security Infrastructure Pilot (SIP) Program:
Beth Jacob de Rav Hirshprung School (Outremont, Quebec): Beth Jacob de Rav Hirshprung is a provincially recognized educational institution, providing Jewish and general education to children from preschool through to high school. The approved funding amount is $47,000.
Beth Rivkah Academy (Montreal, Quebec): Beth Rivkah academy provides a formal education to Jewish girls, offering a curriculum that includes both Judaic and secular studies. The approved funding amount is $9,750.
Centre de la Petite Enfance des Écoles Juives populaires et des Écoles Peretz Inc. (Côte St.Luc, Quebec): The Centre de la Petite Enfance is an early childhood centre with a strong educational component which serves children, ranging in age from three to five years old. The approved funding amount is $14,700.
Communauté Sepharade Hekhal-Shalom (Ville St-Laurent, Quebec): The Communauté Sepharade Hekhal-Shalom is a synagogue that is committed to providing for the spiritual, intellectual and social needs of the Jewish community through religious services and educational, cultural and recreational activities. The approved funding amount is $9,550.
Congregation Beth Tikvah (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec): The Congregation Beth Tikvah is a synagogue that is family-focused, providing educational, spiritual and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. The approved funding amount is $14,618.
Hebrew Academy (Côte St.Luc, Quebec): The Hebrew Academy is an Orthodox Jewish day school which provides a program of Jewish studies integrated with general studies for children in kindergarten to high school. The approved funding amount is $25,400.
Rabbinat Sepharade du Quebec (Montreal, Quebec): The Rabbinat Sepharade du Quebec organization serves as the central planning and coordinating body of spiritual and cultural services for Sephardic Jews in Montreal. The approved funding amount is $12,400.
Shaare Zedek Congregation (Montreal, Quebec): Shaare Zedek is a traditional conservative synagogue. The approved funding amount is $7,285.
Solomon Schechter Academy (Montreal, Quebec): Solomon Schechter Academy is a conservative Jewish day school, serving students from kindergarten to Grade 6. It offers students a Judaic and secular education. The approved funding amount is $11,700.
YM-YWHA Jewish Community Centre – Ben Weider Branch (Montreal, Quebec): The YM-YWHA provides preschool, community and health and fitness services to the Jewish community. The approved funding amount is $70,600.
