More and bigger hurricanes according Environment Canada
As of July 6, CBC reported that Environment Canada is standing by its original forecast of more numerous and larger storms during the 2010 hurricane season.  According to Canadian Hurricane Centre officials this year’s weather system has created cooler waters in the eastern Pacific Ocean and that should mean lighter winds, which will allow more and larger storms to develop.  The Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico current conditions are favorable for the creation of storm development and hurricane forecasters are watching satellite imagery closely. The current forecast calls for 14 to 23 named storms, and three to seven major hurricanes.  There has already been one named storm; Hurricane Alex killed two people and caused severe flooding when it landed in northerneastern Mexico on July 1. It was then downgraded to a tropical storm.
