New Trusted Traveller/ NEXUS program at three Canadian airports
On May 17, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) announced that Canadian air travellers with NEXUS cards can now be expedited through designated airport security screening lines when travelling on domestic and select international flights, excluding travel to the United States. This process will also reduce wait times for travellers at other screening lines. The program is offered at the Ottawa, Toronto and Montréal airports. The new Trusted Traveller/NEXUS trial program is being offered by CATSA in conjunction with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Transport Canada. CATSA will be analyzing the results of the trial program and, based on the results, will decide whether to expand the program to other Canadian airports.

Government of Saskatchewan announces new public safety telecommunications network
On May 18, the Government of Saskatchewan announced that the installation of the province's new Provincial Public Safety Telecommunications Network (PPSTN) is nearly complete. Nearly 5,000 users will be able to migrate from SaskTel's FleetNet system to the new system starting in June. The PPSTN will provide public safety users with the interoperability and sustainability they need to provide timely responses to emergencies. Weyburn police and fire services will be the first organizations to migrate. The new public safety network will provide public safety radio communications coverage to virtually the entire province.
