IBM Security Bulletin

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to a recently released security bulletin from IBM.

Assessment

IBM is reporting that some networking switches have hard-coded usernames and password combinations that administrators are unable to modify. This could lead to unauthorized access to the vulnerable device.

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that owner/operators test and deploy the vendor released updates or workarounds to affected platforms accordingly.
