Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to draw attention to the monthly Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for May 2014.

Assessment

The summary covers 8 bulletins (2 Critical, 6 Important), that address multiple vulnerabilities in Microsoft SharePoint Server, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Common Control, Group Policy Preferences, .NET Framework, Windows Shell Handler, and iSCSI.

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor-released updates to affected applications accordingly.
