McAfee - OpenSSL Heartbleed Vulnerability

Purpose

The purpose of this Alert is to bring attention to recently released security updates for various McAfee products.

Assessment

McAfee has released hotfixes and patches to address the OpenSSL Heartbleed Vulnerability.

Patches are available for the following products:

  • Endpoint Intelligence Agent
  • Next Generation Firewall (Stonesoft) - Patch
  • McAfee Web Gateway - Patch
  • McAfee Firewall Enterprise Control Center

Hotfixes are available for the following products:

  • ePO Deep Command
  • ePolicy Orchestrator
  • McAfee Firewall Enterprise
  • McAfee Enterprise Security Manager (Nitro)
  • McAfee Email Gateway

CVE Reference: CVE-2014-0160

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators test and deploy the vendor released updates to affected platforms accordingly.
