Adobe Security Bulletin Summary for May 2013

Purpose

The purpose of this advisory is to bring attention to the monthly Adobe Security Bulletin Summary for May. The summary covers three critical bulletins, which address multiple vulnerabilities in some Adobe products.

Assessment

Adobe has released the following security bulletins:

APSB13-13 – Hotfix available for ColdFusion
Details: This hotfix resolves vulnerabilities that could be exploited to: allow remote arbitrary code execution on a system running ColdFusion (CVE-2013-1389), and by an unauthorized user to remotely retrieve file stored on the server  (CVE-2013-3336).

APSB13-14 – Adobe Flash Player
Details: These updates address vulnerabilities that could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.

Suggested action

CCIRC recommends that system administrators identify their affected assets and potential interdependencies with organization's critical services and follow their patch management process accordingly.
