The following Winnipeg projects are receiving funding from the National Crime Prevention Strategy's Youth Gang Prevention Fund:

Just TV Pilot Project, Broadway Neighbourhood Centre: This project will work with youth and young adults aged 12-24 at risk of joining gangs or who are already engaged in gang activity. The project will address issues of youth gang involvement, gang-related crime and substance abuse. The funding amount is $157,487.60 over one year.

Project O.A.S.I.S, New Directions for Children, Youth, Adults and Families: This project will work with war-affected African refugee youth aged 12-19 and their families, who have come into contact with the youth criminal justice system and are engaged in or at risk of gang involvement. The funding amount is $168,225.58 over one year.

West Central Youth Outreach Project, Spence Neighbourhood Association: This project will work with at-risk youth aged 12-19 to address issues of gang involvement, gang-related crime and other youth crime in west central Winnipeg. The funding amount is $190,006.12 over one year.

Circle of Courage, Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc.: This project will work with Aboriginal male youth aged 12-17 who are involved in gang-related activity in the Centennial neighbourhood of Winnipeg. The project aims to reduce gang violence and criminal activity by supporting participants as they learn practical life skills that will protect them from the influences and risks associated with gang involvement. The funding amount is $182,670.28 over one year.

Turning the Tides, Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc.: This project will prevent at-risk youth aged 15-19 from joining and engaging in gang activities in Winnipeg's north end. This will be done by connecting adults who have healed from a history of criminal behaviour with youth who are leaving correctional services and by engaging the community. The funding amount is $229,961.89 over one year.
